Virginia, Duke, and UNC compete in more sports than NC State and rack up all these ACC championships in sports that NC State does not even compete in - like men's and women's fencing, field hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, and rowing.

All-time number of ACC Championships in all sports:

NC State 155
Virginia 160
Duke 154
Clemson 146

The two sports we won ACC Championships in this past 2025-2026 academic year, women's cross country and women's tennis, look to be extremely strong next year too.

Women's cross country returns all 5 scorers from last year's national champion team, and looks to be the clear favorite to win both the ACC Championship and national championship in the fall of 2026.

For women's tennis, of course next year's rosters for all teams are still in flux with transfers and incoming singnees, but looking at our roster right now (without doing a deep dive into next year's rosters of other top teams) I would guesstimate that we should be favorites to repeat as ACC Champions, and should probably be around a #4-6 team nationally next year and contending for the national title. We are only losing one senior to graduation, our #2 singles player Anna Zyryanova. UNC is taking a big hit and losing both their #1 and #2 singles players.
