Surprised to to SVG as high in the points as he is. If he can figure out the ovals just a bit more, not so much winning but top 10's he could be trouble

Was talking to a couple of folks, The Rock could be in trouble for the O'Reilly race for next year. According to the person I talked to, the owner of the rock is having issues and the situation isn't good. BTW, the owner is IHRA.

A lot of these tracks have been bought by groups with their eyes looking to the future.....many with their eyes set on data centers. Large tracts of land that aren't being used and owners looking to dump them.

Come to think of it, that does make a lot of sense. I really wish either SMI or NASCAR would buy the rock. That place is only going to get so many chances.

it feels more and more like they want to race in the midwest July 4 just to get a big crowd at a race they otherwise would not get. I was on twitter and saw nascar posted a question of where and how far people were going to Chicagoland from.....I was shocked to see that a lot of people are coming from 6+ hours away to a cookie cutter crap track...but then you realize it's July 4th wknd and people just make bad bad bad travel decisions this wknd. Nascar may never come back to Daytona 4th of July now because Nascar knows they can manipulate fans tracks decisions based off it being a holiday summer wknd. I personally wouldnt drive an hour to see a Chicagoland race.....but I also dont own an RV or have a big family I need to make happy for the 4th of July.

Daytona can get a crowd 4th of July or not.

The summer race at Daytona is around 50 percent or less than what they get for the 500. Chicagoland is going to be either a sellout or real close to one on Sunday. I personally would love for the July 4th race to be at Daytona, same with the Clash.

I'm ready to see how this Gen7 car does here, hopefully the top line is there, if that's the case Larson is one to keep an I on. Happy 4th to everyone!

I just hate the way the Cup cars sound. I dont know if you've ever had an alternator going out but when it does the radio stops working and it literally sounds like a fake race car noise coming thru the radio...that's how the Cup cars sound.

Not sure if you have heard this car in person but it is very throaty sound. Lot louder than the Gen6 car. I like it but everyone has their opinion. Great looking crowd, sold out. NASCAR is on a run here of late.

I heard them at Daytona few years ago and at Darlington....they just sound weird compared to the BGN cars

I agree that they sound different.

The NextGen cup cars have dual exhaust, with the exhaust coming out of both sides of the car. In the past, it was a single side exhaust. The O'Reilly and trucks are still single side exhaust.

The dual exhaust is what makes these cars sound different, mostly noted while watching them on TV. They are fairly loud in person.

I mean it got interesting at the end but these cars "losing the nose" is just pathetic. Too much downforce dependence.

Lot of racing to go but the 11 is starting to pull ahead of the 45. The 45 has had some bad luck of late.

I think this might finally be the 11's year
