Both might be gone either way. But just a couple I think could benefit from coming back another year.
Unlike a guy like Luke Nixon who I thinks draft stock is the same today as it will be next year.
McHugh went to the draft combine so I doubt he comes back.
Wiggins did not get an invite to it though.....
Also, is someone like Bargo granted another year? I doubt he would return to college for a 5th year anyways but you get the point.

Am I missing anyone? For the relief pitchers, lots of upside arms with Kitchings, Black, Ragusa, Biemiller, Manuel especially. If 2 or 3 of those guys can consistently throw strikes, the backend of the pen looks promising. Big ask, though.
Can Hemric/Garino/Harris or even Ragusa take the necessary step and be a weekend guy? Or do we still grab one from the portal. The good news is a lot of those guys (Kitchings, Black, Ragusa especially) are off to good starts this summer. Hopefully they can keep it up
With the 5 to play 5 rule just being passed I wonder how many teams are in "Hold" mode?
I would think waiting until that is cleared up and the draft being in three weeks has a lot teams waiting.
5 for 5 doesn't apply to players who just exhausted their eligibility. Kicks in next year.

Will matter for a draft eligible junior who is a later round pick. You will still have leverage for next year if you aren't getting the deal you want.

I am going to say a guy with Alm's profile is a long shot to make it to campus.

it's been talked about a little bit, but he wasnt invited to the MLB draft combine and wasn't a top 200 prospect on MLB.com. I have no idea where he would fall, but personally i think it's a little bit better than a long shot. Maybe 50/50?

I've expected them all gone, maybe with the 5 for 5 it changes. Maybe McHugh would be a guy to watch with that? I still doubt it though. I don't want Wiggins back and can't imagine he would want to either. Any of them back would surprise me.

I get what youre saying, the reason I said Wiggins because he is the only one who makes a LITTLE bit of sense, but not much at that. IMO he is probably going in round 12-15 due to upside, but if he ever put it together he has top 5 round tools.
That said, I truly think there are better players out there
I'm a player host for the Thomasville Hi-Toms in the CPL. I've got a catcher staying with me that's in he transfer portal. Already has offers from BC, VT, ECU, Coastal, and is visiting UNC tomorrow. He's not heard from State.

unc has a C from Maryland committed already. They must want two, they took two last year as well.
Sidenote, Kiley McDaniel from ESPN really likes Andrew Raymond, our C committed from Miss State. Has him ranked 32nd overall.
I'm not a big fan of McDaniel (which means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme) but nice to see Raymond get the recognition.

Not sure where the best place to put this would be, but something I've been thinking about with baseball recently came up with Brind'Amour wearing his Wolfpack script hat at the Stanley Cup parade. You've got arguably the most famous guy in Raleigh and professional hockey right now wearing your hat in national media interviews, a championship parade, etc. But fans at Doak, the bookstore, R&W Shop cannot buy this hat. It's just a simple gray front panel, black mesh, red Wolfpack script hat. I assume he got it from someone associated with the baseball program with them being the only program to wear that script right now.
Baseball routinely has great gear - hats, athletic work out shirts, etc that fans don't have access to buy for some reason. If we're not going to sell these items, why not make them available to NIL donors as an extra incentive? If these hats had been on sale during the Canes playoff run, or especially if they'd been made available immediately after the parade, you'd probably see these things all over Doak and Carter Finley this next athletic year.
