NC State picked up a commitment from South Carolina transfer RHP Connor Chicoli.

The Raleigh native posted a 3.20 ERA with 34 strikeouts and just 12 walks in 39.1 innings across 17 appearances this spring.

Chicoli should be listed as either SP3 or BP1. McCall Biemiller, Jeese Gutierrez, Collins Black, Aiden Kitchings, Ryder Garino, Truitt Manuel, etc are also pitching options.

Maddox Monsour could be the CF.

I haven't looked but was Chicoli a Sp for a bad USC team? If not why would we expect him to be for a CWS goal State team?

There will be olentu of pitching options. I was interested in identifying the key 6 or 7 guys who will comprise the rotation and back end BP.

I'd grade it a B so far. Upgraded at catcher, got a nice 2nd baseman, and IMO the Texas kid can atleast give you fraasman numbers if he plays everyday (low bar considering fraasmans struggles). Definitely need another guy or two that can hopefully give you power

The arms on the mound are nice, maybe not game changers but solid. I don't think we really needed power arms, we have 4-5 of them if they can throw strikes. Should be fun to see the mixing and matching with the arms, if Chysler can help get some returning guys to throw more strikes, it'll go a long way for our pen. But Lax, Gutierrez and USC kid will definitely help

I will be honest. The arms are by far my biggest concern. We almost always hit but you have to have 5-6 bigtime arms to get to a CWS. I am not sure I see any yet - maybe Nance. We need more Marohns and Dudans.

7 scoreless with 12k so far in 6 appearances in the Cape this summer. Just 1 hit allowed so far.

South Carolina pitched pretty well last year. 7th or 8th in conference in ERA. Their offense was horrible but they pitched it decently

Oh I agree. I am still hopeful we can get a nice piece to throw on Saturday as I think Lax would be a solid Sunday guy. He will keep you in most games and throw strikes- what you need on a Sunday. As of now, we are going to have a lot of arms in the fall, who steps up? If nothing changes between now and then, we will really have to hope someone improves a decent bit
